Welcome to the Digital Pawprints web site with information on printing and a selection of my photographic images. Why Digital Pawprints you may well ask? Digital Pawprints is a follow on from the Pawprint Press, my private press which was founded in 1978 when I acquired my first printing press, an Adana 8x5. I was looking for a press name when one of my cats walked over the newly painted step of the patio door leaving behind his pawprints. “The Pawprint Press” was launched. Over the years my letterpress equipment was expanded with an Adana Horizontal Quarto Platen , a Vicobold and an Original Heidelberg. My foray into offset litho included the acquisition of an AB Dick A4 table top press and a AB Dick 360 A3 press. These are now long gone as photography became my main interest and all my printing became digital using computers, currently I am using a Lenovo Laptop, Canon Inkjet and Kyocera Laser printer. Having retired I decided it was time to start letterpress printing once again, I purchased an Adana 8x5 at a BPS Convention which was incomplete but managed to find another incomplete press which had the remaining parts that I needed. I now regret having sold or given away all my letterpress equipment and type especially as there are no longer the faces available. It is a case of having to keep a look out for decent second hand type or purchase from one of the few remaining companies.
